2 Important Questions to Change The World
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight, making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which he set forth in...
The Unexpected Blessing of Nothing Turning Out Like You Planned
Powerlessness can be a gift. It can connect us to God in unmatched ways, draw us into His covering and protection, and tap into a strength so much greater than our own. We were made to find our rest in the Father, but to get there we usually have to walk the uncomfortable road that leads us to the end of ourselves.
Givers and Takers
I have been reflecting on the word “giver.” The verb give is defined as: “to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation.” Therefore a giver is the one who presents voluntarily or without expecting compensation. What I witnessed these two men give was inspiring. They gave their love and friendship. They gave their time, talents and treasures to their family, their businesses, their friends, and their community. They freely gave (shared) their knowledge of business, carpentry, landscaping, horse training, and politics. They gave a seat at their table to anyone who needed a meal and some fellowship. They gave jobs to those who needed one. What do you freely give? What will you be remembered by others for giving?

Recently, a friend asked for a few verses or parables to shed light on our continuing discussion about faith, work, and calling. The question was not posed from a position of skepticism, but as an encouragement to continue a fruitful dialogue. The gauntlet has been...
One Word that Just Might Change the Way You See Your Job
Statistics say a majority of people hate their jobs. Most see daily work as something that just “has to be done.” After all, there are bills to pay, kids to feed, school loans to pay off, and hopefully a few dollars left over to do some fun stuff from time to time....

My Work Is Motherhood
The Gospel message first reached my heart through a restaurant manager at the local Burger King where I worked. Mary Beth understood that God was not a part of her story; she was a part of His. She understood the same was true of me. She led me to the Lord when I was...
