Gospel Access | A Conversation with John Easter

by | Nov 4, 2025 | Resources

What does it mean for people to have access to the gospel? In this short conversation from the streets of Prague, Erik Cooper talks with John Easter, Executive Director of Assemblies of God World Missions, about the global reality of gospel access—and why it should matter deeply to every follower of Jesus. Even in one of the most beautiful and modern cities in the world, only 0.7% of the population identifies as evangelical Christian. Millions around the world have no access to a life-giving church, a Bible in their language, or even one believer who can share the hope of Jesus with them.

John challenges us to ask:

➡️ Do we truly believe Jesus is the only way to salvation?

➡️ Are we prioritizing gospel access for those who have none?

➡️ How can we align our prayer, generosity, and work to make Jesus known among all peoples? Let’s be a people who pray, give, send, and go—so that everyone, everywhere, can have access to the good news of Jesus Christ.

💬 Key Quotes:

“There is a difference in the degree of access that people have to the saving message of the gospel.”

“Some have ready access to a life-giving church, while others have no one who can tell them about Jesus.”

“Do we truly believe Jesus Christ is the only name given among men under heaven whereby we can be saved?”

“If there’s anything we should prioritize above everything else, it’s increasing access for others to know Jesus Christ.”

“What if we could drive the 42% of the world that doesn’t know Christ down to 41%—or even 40%—in our generation?”

📌 Key Takeaways:

42% of the world still has no access to the gospel.

Gospel access is not just about awareness—it’s about opportunity.

Every believer is called to help increase access to Jesus.

We can all pray, advocate, send, and give to see that number go down.
